Microwave direct contact radiator for diathermy applications
Abstract
Abstract A microwave contact radiator for diathermy applications is proposed, which is designed as a hollow conductor arrangement, preferably as a round hollow conductor. Circularly polarised waves are generated in this hollow conductor arrangement; in this case, the hollow conductor arrangement causes a particularly low amount of scattered radiation and the circular polarisation causes a particularly homogeneous heating of the tissue resting on the device. In order to obtain radiators with small dimensions for locally restricted applications, it is further proposed to introduce conductive webs into the hollow conductor arrangement, whereby the limit frequency is reduced. <IMAGE>
