Interferometric device for electric current measurement using fibre optics
Abstract
Current measurement device comprising an optical fiber (1) wound around the conductor (2) in which the current to be measured flows, a laser source (3), means for separating the radiation (4) emitted by the source towards the two ends (5,6) of the coiled fiber and of recombination of the radiation emerging from these two ends, a conductive circuit (8) traversed by an adjustable reference current (9), a detection device (10) providing a signal characteristic of the interference between the two waves emerging from the fiber, the reference current being adjusted so that the phase difference between the two counter-rotating waves in the fiber is zero, this current then being proportional to the current to be measured flowing in the main conductor.
