Osteosynthetic pressure plate

Abstract

Abstract This integrally formed osteosynthetic pressure plate has a plurality of holes (2), arranged in the direction of the longitudinal axis (1) of the plate, for reception of bone screws, and possesses a trapezoidal cross-sectional surface (4) in the intermediate hole region (3), the shorter base (8) of the trapezoidal cross-sectional surface (4) facing the bone application surface (9). At least the centre (5) of one or more of the hole regions (6) additionally has an essentially rectangular cross-sectional surface (7). Despite the fact that the bone application surface (9) is thereby reduced, the pressure plate has relatively uniform rigidity over the entire plate length and good bending behaviour in the cold state. <IMAGE>
