Abstract
Abstract The biopsy cannula has an inner solid needle which is enclosed in a tubular outer needle from which it is detachable. The tubular outer needle is enclosed in an outer sheath which serves as a guide needle for the inner solid needle. The inner solid needle can be removed leaving the guide needle in place. The guide needle then serves as a guide for the insertion of a wire in the shape of a corkscrew which is used to remove intracorporal tissue for examination. USE/ADVANTAGE - Biopsy cannula which minimises the pain caused to the patient when being used.
