Abstract
Abstract The prodn. method is for a double-walled pipe conducting a hot gas, esp. the exhaust pipe (10) for IC engines. It has an insulating layer between the inner (12) and outer (14) pipe. The pipe is next bent into a final shape at the bends. Before bending, the insulating layer (16) is compacted by widening the inner pipe (12) and/or pulling in the outer pipe (14) by means of a pin (20). USE/ADVANTAGE - Even wall thicknesses are achieved with the insulating layer and high insulation.
