Surgical exsector
Abstract
Abstract A surgical exsector comprises a narrow insertion part which is inserted in a body cavity, for example a cavity in the knee-joint, through a drilled hole without incision and cuts out or removes the tissue, an operation which normally requires a longitudinal incision while the resection is monitored with the aid of an endoscope or a similar device and which removes the excised piece from the body cavity. The surgical exsector furthermore comprises a casing tube, a fixable inner tube which is simultaneously used as a suction tube having a suction channel, and whose end portion projects from the casing tube and has an incision as the cutter inlet. A sliding piece with a knife on the end is built in between the casing tube and the fixable inner tube and slides freely in the axial direction in order to open or close the cutter inlet. <IMAGE>
