Coupling for connecting optical instruments
Abstract
Abstract The invention relates to a coupling for connecting an optical instrument such as a camera to another optical instrument, in particular a medical endoscope, which has an eyecup or the like. In order to achieve in this case that there is a non-positive and positive connection, and above all protection against twisting between the parts to be coupled, it is proposed according to the invention that the coupling contains a clamping element which consists of a ring having clamping fingers, which are adjoined axially thereto and embrace the eyecup of the endoscope or the like radially in an outwardly resilient fashion. In this case, actuation is performed by a clamping sleeve which can easily be displaced axially on the clamping element and can be clamped positively and non positively in the radial and axial directions. As a result, the connection between, for example, the camera and the medical endoscope continuously remains firm. It is also possible to incorporate in this coupling an axially adjustable alignment ring for the optics. A branched beam path for the co-observer can also be provided for application. Moreover, connection to a television camera having very small dimensions is preferred, no branched beam path being required for this purpose, because the image appears on the television screen and can be observed there satisfactorily even by a large number of persons.
