Dental root implant having a positively bioreactive ceramic coating
Abstract
Abstract The invention relates to a dental root implant having a positively bioreactive ceramic coating and an internal screw thread for attachment onto a superstructure. The implant comprises a metallic core having a spreading cone at its front end and the internal screw thread in the region of the cylindrical portion, onto which core a sleeve, which is partially slit over its length starting from its front end, can be forced for anchorage into a bore in the bone provided with an undercut in the region of the floor. In order to avoid, after anchoring, the formation of cavities into which the bone tissue cannot grow, longitudinal ribs engaging in the slits in the sleeve are arranged at the outer surface of the spreading cone of the metallic core, the height of which ribs is adapted to the wall thickness, and their width is adapted to the slits in the sleeve which are widened towards the front side of the spreading cone after anchorage.
