Fitted rivet for highly stressed riveted connections

Abstract

Abstract In a fitted rivet for highly stressed riveted connections, there is a closing part with grooves provided therein, adjacent to the fitted shaft of the rivet. A break-off part (8) is connected via a weak point which is formed by a break-off groove (7). A closing ring engages on the grooves of the closing part. In order to ensure a reliable contact of the closing ring on the fitted rivet repeatedly when the riveted connection is made and in the presence of the operating forces which occur subsequently, the sleeve envelope of the groove base diameter (d1...d6) expands from the contact surface in the direction of the weak point. <IMAGE>
