Test apparatus for portable firearms
Abstract
Abstract A rigid frame (2) is mounted pivotably in its rear part in a baseplate (13) by means of a pivot pin (6). The front part of the frame (2) contains an upwardly open firearm rest (3) and possesses, furthermore, two bearing points (5) which are displaceable on the baseplate (13) in an arc of a circle about the pivot pin (6). In the rear part of the frame (2) there is a receiving device (1) for the stock (10a) of a firearm (10). This stock receptacle surrounds the stock (10a) and contains a pressure cuff (8) which, when pressure (for example compressed air) is supplied, lays itself firmly round the stock (10a), but remains to some extent elastically deformable on all sides. As a result of the clamping effect of the gripping pressure cuff (8) on the one hand, and its elastic deformability, on the other hand, when a shot is fired the recoil and also the shift of the front part of the firearm upwards and sideways are absorbed elastically. With the test apparatus, virtually life-like conditions, despite a clamping of the firearm, are provided. <IMAGE>
