Beat current therapy appts. for electro-excitation - has sine-wave generators producing alternating currents differing in frequency by amount suitable for continuous excitation
Abstract
Abstract At least three sine-wave generators are used to provide alternating currents in the middle frequency range of about 4,000 Hz. These frequencies, however, differ from each other by a value suitable for continuous excitation, i.e. up to 200Hz. The outputs of the generators are coupled to a mixer stage coupled, in turn, to a l.f. amplifier. The latter has two outputs to each of which a hand electrode can be connected. Circuitry is provided in or before the l.f amplifier to change intensity surges of exogenously produced interference to zero. A potentiometer in the amplifier is advantageously provided with a controllable motor drive for continuous amplitude variation of the mixer stage and the amplifier for exploiting the mains frequency to provide an automatic sinusoidal rising and sinking of the mixer frequency in a biological rhythm between 1 and 100 Hz.
