Computer controlled radiation instrument - is individually programmed for each patient by data card which is automatically updated
Abstract
Abstract This radiation instrument, which is intended for psoriasis sufferers, is controlled by a computer which is programmed for each individual patient by means of a magnetic card or similar data carrier, the data base being updated automatically after each treatment. The computer calculates the radiation time and intensity and spectrum and controls the instrument accordingly. The magnetic card etc. (2) is entered into a card reader, is read and checked for errors. The computer (16) calculates various parameters and sets the radiation instrument (8). After the treatment, the number of sessions and their duration and intervals between them is recorded automatically on the data card. A real time clock (17) supplies calender data. A blocking circuit (22) prevents wrong exposure.
