Abstract
Abstract The screw is particularly for fitting in blind holes, and comprises a shank with head, the latter either hexagon- or allen key-headed. Between head (4) and shank is a breakage point (8), at a higher level than the underside of the head. This point can be formed by an undercut in the head, and it can be of smaller cross-section than the threaded portion of the shank. The design ensures that if the head breaks off a protruding portion still remains which can be gripped by pliers etc., so as to unscrew the shank from the hole.
