Bone-implant anchoring element - based on metal core and plastic coating contg. embedded calcium phosphate
Abstract
Abstract Element comprises (a) a core made of metal or a correspondingly bard plastic with a binding element for the soluble attachment of a prothesis, an anchoring element, etc., and (b) a covering of a bio-stable polymeric plastic contg. embedded therein a finely divided, resorbable, sintered calcium phosphate. Core is in the form, at least in the region of the implant, of a widened body having retention props. The coating made of plastic contg. embedded calcium phosphate is surrounded by a sheath of completely resorbable sintered calcium phosphate. Implant forms a stable ingrowth into the bore tissue. It may be used as implant for shins, hip joint sockets, artificial joints, dental implants, etc.
