Motor driven medical instrument with piercing needles - has needle carrier reciprocated by eccentric drive mounted on motor shaft
Abstract
Abstract The medical instrument with a set of needles which are used to pierce the skin of the patient, has a sleeve containing a slider with the head of the needle carrier at one end. The slider is reciprocated by a motor driven spindle at right angles to the direction of movement. The motor is enclosed by a housing which forms a handle. The drive spindle carries an eccentric collar with a projecting lug which engages a slot in the slider, which reciprocates the slider as the spindle rotates. Behind the slider is a return spring. The end of the slider carries an extension which projects from the end of the sleeve to act as a position indicator.
