Abstract

Abstract The instrument closes a tissue fault such as a muscular rupture, using a shield which is brought to the fault in the folded state in a capsule. After capsule removal it is unfolded, and removed from a probe carrying the capsule. To correct a septum defect there are detachable scissor-type supporting members (12) on the probe (8), having fixed to them a skin which can be held taut by them. A guide catheter moves coaxially to the probe and extends them radially into the taut position in relation to it.
