Abstract
Abstract The device comprises a contract carrier (11) which must be advanced relative to a base part (31) so that spring electrodes (18) at the proximal end are allowed to diverge preparatory to clamping tissue therebetween. This movement is achieved by squeezing a spring grip (21) that is secured (37) to a metal tube (20) within which the carrier (11) is clamped. The clamp comprises a nut (23) with a tapering bore portion acting on clamping members (13, 14) through pins (15). Electrical connection is made to the carrier (11) by contacts (27, 28) that pass through an insulating sleeve (29) at the distal end of the tube (20).
