Abstract
Abstract A dental implant for a tooth has an anchor member with a vertical attachment post (5) extending upwards from a base. Onto this is mounted a spherical connection piece (3) with a slot across its base to fit onto the post. Between this piece and the hollow interior of the tooth are shock absorbing components. These consist of a plug of shock absorbing material which is forced to follow the shape of the sphere, and which is housed inside a cup shaped capsule.
