Abstract
Abstract Insulated electrode for use with conventional ECG - equipment is mounted in a very small, electrically insulated housing (3, 7) together with an amplifier (O). The electrode which when in contact with the skin (7) acts as a capacitor, consists of a metal layer (2) and a plastics layer (1) with good insulating properties, pref. polyester e.g. Mylar (RTM), the plastics layer being in contact with the skin. The amplifier is an impedance transducer with low-impedance output signal and high in phase suppression of 100 dB. The conductive silver varnish coating (3) acts as a reference mass.
