Abstract
Abstract Rectal catheter for examination of the colon has a unit bounding a flexible medicament inlet at the distal end, an endorectal inflatable element fitted around the injection tube at a point longitudinally inward from a medicament outlet, an air channel, enclosed in the unit bounding the flexible tube, and connected to inflate the inflatable element. Units on the flexible tube, spaced from the inflatable element, engage the outside of the body and prevent escape of the intestinal contents during use. The instrument is reliable and easy to use.
