Abstract
Abstract The mirror is mounted on a special linkage taken through the side window on a sealed support and fitted on the inside of the car with a control knob. The linkage has two swivel ball joints with a first ball joint in the plane of the window to provide one degree of adjustment and with the other swivel joint outside the window to act as a spring back joint. This is secured by plastic ratchet surfaces while a spring loaded central shaft secured to the joint. The spring back facility is thus incorporated into the remote linkage in a simple, economic way to provide a safety assembly.
